Range Rover PHEV Review

Range Rover PHEV Review

The new Range Rover hybrid is on sale now - priced from a whopping £94,400. The P440e & P510e are bringing a sense of luxury to the EV world. Unfortunately only offering around 50 miles of electric range, the latest release from Land Rover is a step in the right direction for the company's switch to electric. With a fully electric model arriving in 2024 - this SUV is a great stepping stone. Both models of P440e and P510e flaunt a 38.2kWh battery and require Type 2 charging equipment to replenish the battery.

Inside Land Rover's newest release, an all new 13.1" curved touchscreen includes a simplified menu; with an array of connectivity options (Apple CarPlay, Android Auto & Bluetooth etc). Whilst also offering integration with Spotify and Amazon Alexa - Land Rover have really pushed forward with media & entertainment in the P440e and P510e. Plenty of storage in the form of cubbies, boxes & the whopping 725 litre boot.

Charging the all-new Range Rover PHEV couldn't be easier. Similar to other Type 2 vehicles, the P440e and P510e require charging cables with a Type 2 connector on one end, and then the other is dependent on where you want to charge your vehicle. The quickest way to charge the Range Rover PHEV is through rapid charging (CCS - DC charging). This allows for a 0-80% charge in just under an hour; CCS charging cables can be found tethered in specific public charging points.

Alternatively, the more accessible and practical options for charging the P440e and P510e come in the form of AC charging. Wanting to charge your vehicle from your household 3-pin domestic socket? Slow charging is available and it takes usually around 8-12 hours, but if you schedule the timing overnight - this shouldn't be an issue. Utilising public charge points, or home-installed charge points is the other option - this is referred to as fast charging. Charging at 32A or 16A - you can usually see a fully charged vehicle in just under 5 hours.
